Greetings and welcome to the Tattoo Collector Magazine website.
I want to start with a proposition:
The only reason bad tattooers and bad tattoo shops exist is that most people don't know the differences between the good, the bad, and the ugly. We hope to change all that.
What's the purpose of Tattoo Collector Magazine?
To represent the finest artists in the tattoo world to the serious tattoo fan. This is no regular newsstand magazine, we aren't after a quick buck and we won't take advantage of your ignorance in order to sell more copies. This project is done by tattooers and with the support of the tattoo community to properly represent the finest of our field. And it is our goal to show off our best and brightest stars.
We will consistently present you the best tattooing has to offer and we will endeavor to not only entertain you but also to educate you about the world of tattooing, what to look for in a tattooer and how to find the best artist to do your work in your area or abroad. We will also share with you some simple principals which will help you learn the difference between a good tattoo and a bad tattoo. Our one objective is to raise the bar in the tattoo world by educating the masses about quality and integrity in our craft. We will present you with only the finest tattooers around and, we hope, over time, you will be able to discern the differences yourself.
Each issue of TCM takes its content from an issue of Tattoo Artist Magazine, a self-published trade journal for the professional tattooer only. We've been working hard for three years now to raise the bar within the tattoo community by showcasing the very best tattooers on the planet. Now we're granting access to the rest of the world.
Isn't $15 a little high for a magazine?
Yep. But this magazine isn't for the average Joe.
There's an old saying in the tattoo world:
"Good tattoos are not cheap and cheap tattoos are not good."
The same is true here.
Good tattoo magazines are not cheap and cheap tattoo magazines are not good!
(And I know because I used to write for about six of them before starting my own magazine, with my own guidelines in quality and integrity.)
It's a fact of life that can only get what you pay for. If you want quality, you're going to have to pay for it. This is a self-published project with only the serious tattoo collector in mind. If all you're concerned with is finding the cheapest place to get your tattoo done, then this magazine isn't for you. If, however, you're interested in learning about the best tattooers in the world, seeing their mind-blowing work, and being privy to the tattoo tutorials offered by such artists, then this magazine IS for you and welcome you to the real world of tattooing. It ain't cheap, but it's worth every penny!
